Professional whitening at PGS Dentistry uses higher-strength, dentist-supervised systems that whiten more evenly and more safely. We offer two paths: a fast in-office treatment, or custom-fitted take-home trays you wear on your own schedule.
Both options are tailored to your goals, your sensitivity level, and the existing shade of your teeth. We'll talk through what's realistic for you before we start.

Cleaning & exam
We start with a cleaning and a quick exam to make sure your teeth and gums are healthy enough to whiten and to spot anything (like tooth-colored fillings or crowns) that won't change shade.

Choose your system
A single two-hour in-office whitening session for fastest results, or custom trays you wear at home for 1–2 weeks. Some patients combine both for a deeper result.

Treatment
The in-office session takes about two hours from start to finish. Take-home trays are made from impressions of your teeth and ship with professional-strength gel and clear instructions.

Sensitivity management
Mild, temporary sensitivity is normal. We use desensitizing agents and can adjust strength or frequency if you're sensitivity-prone.

Maintenance
Touch-ups every 6–12 months keep results bright. We'll give you a maintenance plan based on what you eat, drink, and how your teeth respond.

How white will my teeth get?
Most patients lighten 4–8 shades. Results vary based on starting shade, the cause of staining, and which system you choose. We'll set realistic expectations at your consult.
How long do results last?
With reasonable care, 1–3 years before a touch-up. Coffee, tea, red wine, and tobacco shorten that window. Take-home trays make touch-ups easy at home.
Is whitening safe for my enamel?
Dentist-supervised whitening is well-studied and safe for healthy enamel. We screen first to avoid whitening over decay, exposed roots, or aggressive sensitivity.
Will whitening change my crowns or fillings?
No — whitening only affects natural tooth structure. If you have visible crowns or fillings, we'll plan around them so your smile stays color-matched.
Does insurance cover whitening?
Whitening is cosmetic and typically not covered. We offer transparent pricing and several options across price points.
