Tooth Replacement Options
An honest, complete look at every option — not just the one we want to sell.

Replacing a missing tooth — or several — is one of the most consequential dental decisions you'll make. The right choice depends on the location, the condition of neighboring teeth, your bone health, your budget, and what you want your day-to-day life to look like.
There's no single best option. Implants are the most natural and durable but most expensive. Bridges work well when neighboring teeth need crowns anyway. Dentures and partials are the most affordable and the right choice for many patients, especially when multiple teeth are missing.
At PGS, we walk you through every option that fits your case — including the cost, the timeline, the maintenance, and the trade-offs. Then you decide.
A clear, comfortable process from start to finish.
- 1
Comprehensive evaluation
X-rays, photos, and an exam of the affected area. For implants, we may take a 3D scan to evaluate bone.
- 2
Options review
We walk through implants, bridges, and dentures/partials for your specific case. You see the trade-offs clearly — strengths, limits, and pricing.
- 3
Treatment plan
Once you've chosen, we map out the timeline and the steps. Some options finish in weeks; implants take months for proper healing.
- 4
Coordinated care
If specialists are needed (oral surgeon, periodontist), we coordinate the referral and treatment plan so nothing falls through the cracks.
- 5
Long-term follow-up
Whatever you choose, we monitor it as part of your routine care to catch issues early and protect your investment.
Common questions about tooth replacement options.
Implants vs. bridges — how do I choose?
Implants are best when neighboring teeth are healthy. Bridges make sense when those teeth already need crowns. Cost, healing time, and bone health all factor in.
When are dentures or partials the right choice?
When multiple teeth are missing, when bone won't support implants, or when budget is the deciding factor. Modern dentures and partials look and function much better than older designs.
Can I get implants if I've had teeth missing for years?
Often yes, though bone loss may require a bone graft first. We use 3D imaging to evaluate your specific case.
How long does each option last?
Implants: 25+ years and often lifetime. Bridges: 10–15 years typical. Dentures: 5–10 years before relining or replacement.
What does insurance cover?
Coverage varies dramatically by plan. We verify benefits and present transparent pricing for every option before you commit.
